At Van Aerde Food Group, we know that nature is our greatest ally. Without thriving ecosystems, there can be no healthy food, no future for communities, and no balance for generations to come. That is why we actively support projects that protect and restore the natural world. One of these projects is the Loziba Wildlife Reserve in South Africa.
Nature, our ally
What is Loziba?
Loziba is a bold conservation initiative co-founded by conservationist Grant Fowlds. Its mission is to create a 30,000–40,000 hectare Big Five reserve where wildlife protection, ecological restoration and community development go hand in hand. On this land, elephants, rhinos and other species can return to safe habitats, invasive plants are removed, and wild corridors are restored so animals can migrate freely again.
But Loziba is also about people. More than 160 community members already benefit from new jobs, education and sustainable livelihoods connected to the reserve. By combining conservation with social impact, Loziba shows that protecting nature is also about building stronger futures for local families.

Van Aerde Food Group supports Loziba as a shareholder.
Our investment contributes to fencing that protects elephants, to anti-poaching programmes, and to the reintroduction of endangered species. We also co-fund a documentary that shares Loziba’s story with the world, amplifying the urgent call to protect biodiversity.
Why it matters to us
As a family business, we have always believed that quality and responsibility belong together. Supporting Loziba allows us to live up to that promise: sourcing premium products from nature, while giving back to projects that keep nature alive.
It is a continuation of our founder Jos Van Aerde’s guiding words:
“If the world were to end tomorrow, I would still plant my tree.”
By standing alongside Loziba, we plant that tree – for animals, for communities, and for the planet we all share.
