Van Aerde Food Group was founded in 1935 when Jos Van Aerde began delivering quality meats by bicycle from his shop in Antwerp’s Historic Harbour.

Today, we’re a growing, third-generation family business, with Jan and his Christophe at the helm.

Van Aerde Food Group founded in Antwerp by Jos Van Aerde, mostly selling beef tongue to local butchers.

1965

Jos Van Aerde starts to import premium beef from Argentina. Expansion to other markets soon follow.

1980

Move and expansion to new warehouse & headquarters in Wijnegem, Belgium.

1987

Acquisition of Swift & Co., extending our capabilities in international seafood trading.

2011

Acquisition of Bimpex Meat, strengthening our reach in Irish beef and New Zealand beef and venison

2015

Partnership with New Zealand's prestigious Silver Fern Farms, fortifying our supply chain partnerships in this key market.

Acquisition of Cordts Fleish, extending our European presence in quality meat importing.
